The graphics card shares the same design as the RTX 4080 AMP EXTREME AIRO, in fact, the heat sink on this graphics card seems to be the same too, despite having far higher TDP. 

With the same curvy design of the AMP EXTREME AIRO 4080, the graphics card does look fabulous. While the rest of the variants on the market provide a boxy design, it is nice to see ZOTAC designing a “spaceship”. The graphics card feels premium to the touch and aesthetics-wise, one of the nicest RGB lighting setups among all variants.

The performance of the graphics card is simply the best among all the GPUs on the market, as expected from a graphics card that provides over sixteen thousand CUDA cores. The clock rate of the graphics card goes above 2900 MHz with overclocking, with some users able to go over 3000 MHz, which is quite an achievement for a graphics card. There are 128 RT cores on the graphics card, which is a 68% increase from the RTX 4080. That is why the graphics card really shines in the Ray Tracing department, not to mention its raw performance is already top-notch. 

The memory of the graphics card is exactly the same as the RTX 3090 Ti, providing a 24 GB GDDR6X memory buffer with a memory bandwidth of 1008 GB/s. This ensures that you are able to play 4K games at 100+ FPS at native resolution with maximum settings, while the option of Frame Generation ensures future-proof 4K ultra gaming.

GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming OC 24G is the most powerful GPU AMD has released. It has everything that the RX 7900 XT has and some more exclusive features. It has tremendous raw power with DX12 and Vulkan support, allowing you to enjoy both worlds’ best experiences. Equipped with GIGABYTE’s Wind force cooling fans with alternating rotations, composite copper heat pipes, and Nano-graphite coating, it bumps its thermal efficiency to another level. Similar features like the RDNA 3.0 architecture and FSR upscaling optimize your games for higher visual fidelity without compromising hardware efficiency.

The graphics card features 6144 stream processors with 384 Texture Mapping Units and 192 Render Output Units. ZOTAC graphics cards have been doing an excellent job since the release of GTX 900-series graphics cards years ago. The quality of components used in its graphics cards made them quite reliable and that is why we have a ZOTAC card for review here today. ZOTAC RTX 4080 AMP Extreme AIRO is the company’s flagship variant and provides top-of-the-line performance whether you talk about thermals, overclocking, aesthetics, or whatever. 

The design of the graphics card seems a lot better than the ZOTAC RTX 3000-series graphics cards. The GPU shares a curvy look with RGB lighting at the top and the backplate; has a thick heat sink for cooling. This is one of the only graphics cards we have seen that come with as curvy looks as this. Moreover, the GPU is also available in a white color theme, which is excellent for white-themed rigs.

Specifications-wise, the RTX 4080 is quite close to RTX 3080 if we look at the shader count and other components. It offers 9728 SPUs, 304 Texture Mapping Units, and 112 Render Output Units. The improvement mainly comes from the clock rate, where the graphics card really shines, having a high boost clock rate of 2565 MHz. 

The memory of the graphics card is slightly slower than a 3090/ 3080 Ti, using a 256-bit memory interface, thus leading to 716.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The VRAM size, although has improved, as it now supports a 16 GB of GDDR6 buffer.

The gaming performance of the graphics card makes it faster than RTX 3090 Ti without any DLSS or Frame Generation. Frame Generation increases the FPS by 60 to 80%, although the input latency does not decrease with this improvement in FPS.

Overall, ZOTAC RTX 4080 AMP Extreme AIRO is one of the best choices for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, offering extreme performance at a high price.

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 310 AMD RX 7900 XT BLACK EDITION

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 310 AMD RX 7900 XT BLACK EDITION is a powerhouse and has extreme performance. The XFX variant is elegantly designed with good thermal capacity due to its innovative fabrication for the metallic backplate and radiator fins. This RX 7000 series is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s RTX 4000 series. It supports AMDs latest architecture, the RDNA 3.0 with 84 RT + AI accelerator cores, enabling it to perform excellent real-time raytracing, which makes its RT performance far better than the RX 6000-series cards.

The GPU offers 5376 shader processing units, which is a slight boost from the 5120 shaders found in the RX 6900 XT. The clock rate of the graphics card has highly improved; now, it has a high boost clock rate of 2560 MHz. With overclocking, you can surpass 2700 MHz with ease on this graphics card. 

The memory of the graphics card has improved quite a bit, as a 320-bit interface with GDDR6 technology provides an overall memory bandwidth of 800 GB/s, whereas you get 512 GB/s of bandwidth with the RX 6900 XT. Moreover, the buffer size has been increased to 20 GB, which makes it future-proof for upcoming games.

MSI GeForce RTX 4070Ti VENTUS 3X 12G OC

MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming X TRIO 12G performs less than the RTX 4080, but its pricing is very considerate. With similar Nvidia features, it is based on ADA Lovelace architecture, and this GPU performs exceptionally well for a mid-end GPU. It is marginally better than previous-generation graphics cards and has enhanced performance due to 3rd generation RT cores and 4th generation Tensor cores/DLSS 3.0 support. 

The GPU comes with 7680 shader processing units with a TMU and ROP configuration of 240 and 80. The graphics card has a high boost clock rate of 2745 MHz, which is a huge improvement from the previous generation. Moreover, the power efficiency of the graphics card has also improved, as despite having such high clock rates, it has a mediocre TDP of 285 watts. The memory of the graphics card is a bit on the lower end for 2024; using a 12 GB of GDDR6X memory buffer, having a 192-bit memory interface.

MSI embedded it with the TORX FAN 5.0 tech to make it both thermally and acoustically efficient; a copper baseplate and an integrated fin design with three axial fans efficiently dissipate heat and keep its core temperature optimal for longer gaming sessions.

GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3090 XTREME

The last card we have on the list is one of the specials too. GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 3090 XTREME is the best variant of GIGABYTE for RTX 3090 and its design and performance outshine the others. It is a tri-fan graphics card with a triple-slot form factor. The size of the graphics card is quite big but still feels smaller than the flagship variants of the RTX 4090. 

The graphics card feels quite different from others at first look and the reason is that the fan shroud only covers the boundary of the three fans. It offers a nice display at the top that provides the information regarding thermals of the GPU. There is RGB lighting at the top and the backplate of the graphics card, which feels pretty premium.

There is a total of 10496 CUDA cores on the graphics card in combination with 328 Texture Mapping Units and 112 Render Output Units. As for the Tensor and RT cores, you get 328 Tensor cores and 82 RT cores with the RTX 3090. All these components run at a boost clock rate of 1860 MHz, which is a 10% improvement from the reference clock rates. The memory of the graphics card is among the best, providing a large buffer size of 24 GB with an overall memory bandwidth of 936 GB/s. 

The gaming performance of the graphics card is fantastic for 4K Ultra gaming at native resolution. Most games won’t require DLSS for 60 FPS, although some games with Ray Tracing will definitely require you to turn on DLSS if you want to enjoy high frame rates. Overall, GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 3090 XTREME is a nice alternative to RTX 4000-series graphics cards if you get it at a low price point.

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT PURE

The next graphics card that we have on the list is quite a rare piece. You don’t get to see this graphics card often and that is why it is usually not available at its official prices. However, if you get it at its official price, it offers the best bang for the buck. 

The design of the graphics card makes it the nicest AMD graphics card on the market. With perfect RGB lighting, a great blend of black and white fan shroud, and a futuristic fan design, SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6950 XT PURE is no doubt the best-looking Radeon card that ever existed.

The card offers 5120 shader processing units with 320 TMUs and 128 ROPs. The boost clock rate of the graphics card is 2368 MHz, which is slightly above the boost clock rate of the reference card. The memory of the graphics card seems to be a bottleneck here, providing 576 GB/s of bandwidth, using a 256-bit memory bus. The VRAM capacity, however, seems enough, at 16 GB.

The Ray Tracing performance of the graphics card is definitely lower than the RTX 3000-series graphics cards, although the DLSS has been countered with FSR. The gaming performance of the graphics card without Ray Tracing is roughly the same as the RTX 3090 but comes at a far lower price, which makes it one of the best high-end graphics cards for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

RX 6800 XT is a decent graphics card for 1440p gaming. It has a generous 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a clock speed of around 2300 MHz, and 4608 shader processing units. It is equipped with 72 ray accelerators, which help it perform real-time raytracing and increase the game’s overall visual appeal without straining hardware performance. 

It also comes in a non-XT version, the RX 6800, similar in performance with slightly fewer features and can be a good option for people looking to buy a decent GPU for a high-end build.

Its 16GB VRAM makes it a worthwhile option and will serve you for a reasonable amount of time without needing an upgrade. However, it is not recommended for 4K gaming as it doesn’t provide enough consistency with its framerates at that resolution.
