The gaming world is again filled with anticipation and excitement, especially COD fans who have heard many titbits and rumors of a new installment in the series. In the Digital age, where almost everyone is connected globally, things don’t stay hidden for long, and that holds goes for games currently in development.
With leakers and rumor spreaders doing what they do best, spreading any bits of information to the community, Activision has finally put its foot down and let the cat out of the bag. The Company has released a teaser video that showcases the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare III.
The Game will launch on mainstream gaming platforms, such as PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and even Nintendo Switch, on November 10 this year. This might also result in some backlash due to the inclusion of the NS, although the NS users will be quite excited to play the game on their beloved platform.
Activision debuted their brain Child COD in 2003, and ever since then, they have come up with a full-fledged Call of Duty game every year. They have built a big community of gamers and have devised ways to keep players hooked to the series. Sledgehammer Games have developed the upcoming COD MW III in collaboration with Activision.
The game’s teaser has sparked the community’s interest as Captain Price mentions the Russian ultranationalist Vladimir Markov. Players following the series will instantly recognize him as the Original Antagonist of the OG MW III, as the teaser mentions never burying your enemy alive.

The COD series has kept its players engaged through complex storylines, keeping them hooked to the series as they know how to draw the players into their game’s narrative.
Another way that COD has kept its player base hooked and attracted new players is the ever-evolving game mechanics. Players have especially become avid series fans due to the Slide canceling mechanic. The players received this particular mechanic well, as it allowed for swift map traversal. Nonetheless, it has been missing in Warzone II and Modern Warfare II. But Activision has hinted at the return of the mechanic in the game by sending out a slide sandal to one of the COD influencers, FaZe Swagg, much to the community’s delight.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III will also allow players to progress their inventory to the game from the previous game. This will allow the players to experience the in-game immersion of the COD universe that Activision has created over the years.
Moreover, due to Microsoft’s Acquisition of Activision Blizzard, titbits are floating around the internet that MW III might be the first Activision title to drop on Xbox Game Pass on release day 1.
While we are waiting for MW III, Treyarch, another gaming studio, is working on Activision’s directive to develop the next game that will release sometime next year if the pattern holds for a COD title every year.
As things are, the COD series has become one of those certain things in life that will always happen to you, at least so far they have. Can’t say anything about the future, though.
